Dialogue Conference on Autonomous Passenger Ferries
The Dialogue conference is hosted in cooperation with Norsk Forum for Autonome Skip (NFAS) on December 9th in Oslo.

The Norwegian government has a strong focus on «green shipping» and climate friendly solutions for public ferry stretches are no exception. The municipality of Tønsberg is acquiring a passenger/bike ferry for the 100m Husøysund stretch. Tønsberg has high climate ambitions for this project, and they want to explore the possibility of a climate friendly passenger/bike ferry with the option of autonomous operation.
The National Program for Supplier Development (NHO, KS, Difi) informs that Tønsberg is not alone in its search for this type of ferries. Multiple municipalities and County Authorities are interested in climate friendly passenger ferries with autonomous operation possibilities.
Tønsberg and the National Program for Supplier Development invites municipalities and County Authorities with a need for ferry solutions, suppliers, R&D actors, and authorities to a national dialogue to boost the development of operational ferry solutions.
The Dialogue conference is hosted in cooperation with Norsk Forum for Autonome Skip (NFAS), which has a wide endorsement from authorities, companies, and academia.
Participating at the conference will give potential suppliers an overview of what Tønsberg and Norway needs, and an opportunity to position themselves before the tender is submitted. Innovations and solutions for the ferry stretches will be presented and indications on what the current rules and legislation will allow.
