Showcasing Innovation and new product launches

Throughout the week, our cluster members showcased their latest products and innovations, demonstrating the cluster's breadth and depth of expertise.

Some of the events that took place were the presentation of the collaboration project "Sea Zero,"  giving an insight into their work on developing the world's most energy-efficient cruise ship. Through the PIEZO project, VARD has developed a concept design for a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) which primarily utilizes batteries as its energy source, supplemented by offshore charging. Kongsberg Maritime launched a new range of ship designs for Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels (AHTS) and Platform Supply Vessels (PSV), offering the flexibility of incorporating alternative energy sources and fuels like methanol, ammonia, and hybrid-battery power.  Meanwhile, Dipai revealed the latest enhancements to their Digital Fleet Platform, a system designed to reduce emissions, boost efficiency, and economize operations. Anda-Olsen facilitated a technical seminar on sustainable maintenance utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.  SEAONICS presented their Electric Controlled Motion Compensated (ECMC) Crane.

The panel debate on practical solutions for new fuels and carbon capture in deep-sea shipping led to insightful discussions about the challenges and opportunities in the sector, mainly focusing on green energy and maritime sustainability. It demonstrated the broad value chain of the maritime cluster.

Exchanging Knowledge

Nor-Shipping is also an opportunity to form closer bonds with our allies globally. Throughout the week, we had engaging meetings and met up with maritime members based in Finland, Italy, the UK, and France. We also joined the French-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce session centered around Green/Smart Shipping and potential collaboration opportunities between France and Norway.

GCE Blue Maritime Cluster also co-hosted a panel debate with DNV discussing practical solutions for new fuels and carbon capture in deep-sea shipping. This led to insightful discussions about the challenges and opportunities in the sector, mainly focusing on green energy and maritime sustainability. Glocal Green, Pon Power, VARD, Thome Group and Mærsk Mc-Kinneyt Møller participated on the subject of Methanol.
