Ship Technology Days 2026
Conference Ship Technology Days returns for the fourth consecutive year, bringing together leading actors from industry, academia and the public sector to explore how technology and digitalization are transforming the maritime industry.
Advanced Maritime Operations are shaping our Future Naval Capabilities
Hosted in Ulsteinvik – at the heart of the Norwegian maritime cluster – Ship Technology Days is designed as a technology-driven conference, focusing on real projects, real challenges and real industrial progress.
Program
Day 1 – Industry visits & Blue Maritime Hangout
The first day is dedicated to company visits and hands-on insight into technology development in practice. The day concludes with the Blue Maritime Hangout – an informal and open networking arena where professionals from industry, research and education meet to exchange experiences and perspectives.
Day 2 – Conference Day
The conference day addresses key technology themes shaping the future maritime industry:
- Introduction & Contracting in a Digital Maritime World
How technological development, digital tools and new risk perspectives are influencing contracting, classification and regulatory frameworks.
- Autonomous Maritime Projects
Experiences from advanced autonomous vessel projects – what is needed to move from pilots to scalable operations.
- Remote Operation Centres (ROCs)
Design, operation and standardization of ROCs across maritime segments. How can we build safe, efficient and future-proof control centres?
- Naval Autonomy & Dual-Use Technology
Insights from naval autonomy initiatives and how civil and naval maritime sectors can learn from each other – both technologically and operationally.
Each session concludes with panel discussions, encouraging open dialogue between technology developers, operators, researchers and authorities.
Evening
The conference concludes with a conference dinner, providing a relaxed setting for continued discussions and networking.
Full program will be launched shortly.
Ship Technology Days 2026 is part of a long-term effort to strengthen competence, collaboration and innovation in the maritime industry – bridging research and industry, and turning advanced technology into operational reality.
The conference is led by GCE Blue Maritime Cluster, and organized in close collaboration with Ulstein Næringsforum, MAFOSS and with strong professional contributions from the MIDAS competence-building project, led by NTNU and supported by the Norwegian Research Council.
Welcome to Ulsteinvik and two days of technology, insight and collaboration.
