Henrik Lund Standal, a master's student from NTNU Trondheim, has joined GCE Blue Maritime Cluster as an intern for the autumn season. Henrik is pursuing a master's degree in Innovation & Sustainable Social Development, a program that explores how innovations emerge and evolve in organizations through internal processes and external influences, with a strong focus on sustainability.

Strengthening Ties Between Academia and Industry

Internships are essential for connecting academic knowledge with practical industry needs, especially in the maritime cluster. Close collaboration with academia is crucial for maintaining an innovative and competitive edge in the market. Internships introduce new ideas to the industry and provide future professionals with valuable hands-on experience. This knowledge exchange benefits the entire maritime cluster and is important for building and maintaining a strong competence base and workforce.

Henrik's motivation for joining GCE Blue Maritime Cluster was mainly the opportunity to gain more insight and learn more about the impact and possibilities within the industry: "The maritime industry is crucial for Norway and a major focus area for the future. GCE Blue Maritime Cluster is situated right in the heart of a region where this industry has a strong presence. That's why I found it very interesting to see how the maritime cluster works to develop the industry. With their clear ambitions to make the cluster more sustainable and competitive both internationally and nationally, I was very eager to apply for an internship position."
